There is so much to do from Swallows Nest!

DSCF0442Young or young at heart there is something for everyone to enjoy in the beautiful region of Northumberland.  Castles galore to visit the majestic Bamburgh castle is on the door step and just short drives away are Dunstanburgh, Lindisfarne, Warkworth and Alnwick castles all have something different to offer.

For a day to blow away the cobwebs and see an abundance of wild life; a trip to the Farne Islands is fantastic fun for all the family. Fishing trips also can be booked from Seahouses harbour, where fishing boats leave at different times throughout the day, every day of the week in high season.

Northumberland is very popular with cyclists and Bamburgh is on the Coast and Castles cycle route small sections of this can be enjoyed for shorter cycle rides that can be started from Swallows Nest.

155Children will love Preston Tower a little gem hidden away just a few miles away, climbing the stairs to the top there is a marvellous view over the northumberland country side.

For keen gardeners there are many houses that boast beautiful gardens to laze away a day or two.  Cragside near Rothbury has spectacular grounds that require a full day out with picnic and walking boots. Howick Hall near Craster hides in stunning grounds and boasts a beautiful traditional tea room where Earl Grey Tea was invented no less!

Local golf courses at Bamburgh, Seahouses, Dunstanburgh and Belford are renowned as some of the most spectacular and challenging in the country and welcome non members..so golfers bring your golf clubs!
